The exhibit for December 2 to December 30 is a display of decorative quilts by Janet McLaughlin who was taught as a young child to make clothes by choosing patterns, fabrics and notions. For many years, Janet made her own clothes, curtains, pillows, chair covers and bedspreads. Then one day she saw a show on quilting and decided to try it. After years of quilting she joined the Long Island Quilters Society, an organization that gives quilters the opportunity to learn more about their craft through classes and lectures. She will display quilts that were machine pieced and machine quilted.
